Emmanuel Adegboye
Licensee/Curator

I have always played the role of the community builder and ecosystem architect. Based on my educational and career background, I am able to connect several sectors (and people in those sectors) including the academia, private sector (especially the technology and media industries), civil society organisations/non-governmental organisations and government agencies. A lot of these experiences and relationships were acquired through volunteering for leadership roles and I have been responsible for managing various communities e.g. Startup Grind Lagos (a global community of entrepreneurs actively educating, inspiring and connecting founders to partners). I am also currently a co-founder for Ventures Dialogue (a platform for education, collaboration and dissemination of opportunities tailored to meet the specific needs of African founders and entrepreneurs, especially access to capital). I am an experienced TEDx organiser (having co-organised 3 TEDxIfe events in the past) and have been licensed by TED to host TEDxYaba event which would bring together some of the top innovators and thinkers within the region.

I have several years of project and operations management experience and I am currently the Operations Manager for the Social Programmes Strategic Business Unit at Venture Garden Group where I oversee the development of technology platforms to support the work of the National Social Investment Office in the Nigerian Vice-President’s office. Prior to this, I was the Project Manager for Special Projects at Venture Garden Group, where I managed some of the company’s innovation and entrepreneurship development efforts, including designing the accelerator programme for the Garden Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship. I hold a bachelors degree in Engineering Physics and a masters degree in Environmental Control and Management both from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Certificate in Disciplined Entrepreneurship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology amongst other qualifications.

At the heart of all these is a passion for finding innovative solutions to problems, especially how African innovators can harness technology to solve indigenous and local problems.
